The Stubby
The Stubby
Hard Ready® War Dogs Series
The first in our new series of blades, which recognizes dogs that bravely served the US military in battle is, The Stubby.
Sgt. Stubby was a pit bull mix, who became famous during and after WWI, as a result of his wartime exploits, including finding German spies, as well as wounded servicemen, and his immense popularity with presidents and other politicians. Sgt. Stubby participated in 17 battles, over his 18 months in Europe. He died in 1926 and was preserved for display at the Smithsonian in Washington DC.
Like it’s namesake, The Stubby is utilitarian; sturdy and ready to work. Made of D2 steel and with textured G10 scales, this blade comes with a kydex sheath and a reversible clip (with a retention notch), that Hard Ready® is known for. With a blade length of 3”, a 3/16” spine, and an overall length of 7.25”, The Stubby is able to handle tough jobs without taking up much space on the waist, in the toolbox, in a backpack, or in the glovebox.
